Home' AtoZ Wedding Guide : 2009 Contents 20
Celebrate into the night
You have set the date, chosen your wedding
ceremony location and now it is time to decide
on your reception venue. Make sure you search
thoroughly for the right location and gather
necessary information before making a decision.
Ensure the venue is large enough to accommodate
the number of invited guests, along with all the
tables, chairs, a dance floor, a bar and any additional
objects such as a buffet table, a gift table or a lectern
You might also want to take into consideration the
theme of your wedding and a specific location to suit
the tone of your day.
You may choose to hold your reception at a hotel
where guests can conveniently stay overnight after
the celebrations have come to an end. Parking is a
factor that needs to be considered, and if you find
the perfect reception venue, but there is limited or no
parking, make sure you provide alternative transport
options such as a shuttle bus.
Also, when planning your reception, ensure the site
owners are willing to work with you on all aspects,
from food to decorations. Having skilled staff and
responsible management will help you drastically
ease the burden of organising such a big event.
Wherever you decide to host your wedding reception,
take the time to research thoroughly. It is up to you to
ensure you find the right venue that allows your day
to run as smoothly as possible.
